If it hooks you, it'll probably be when you've completed a run, or at least gotten close to doing so (you get the victory screen and option to continue in endless mode). By then you should have enough understanding of the mechanics to start to realize how much depth of strategy is involved with pushing for higher and higher scores, and the random element provides that motivation to repeat, as well as a boost to the satisfaction felt when a build really comes together for you. Brilliant pick-up-and-play, easy-to-learn-hard-to-master arcade game with S-tier aesthetics.
I played for about an hour. Had okay fun, but I just don't see the long-term hook. I got other free-2-plays taking up my time.
Fell for the many good reviews here and... nope. Not my game. In the end, it is a card game and I just don't like those.

this is a game I’ll be picking up at some point. I’m guessing most people to see it don’t really understand it as it appears to be just a card game, but people that played a very different opinions.
hell yeah. my GOTY by far. I'll buy a 3rd copy if it comes out on quest.
