It was just a raw observation. I apologize to Desalus. Honestly, I am a moron, easily ignored. Thanks to everyone else. Love you guys.

On that latter note, Hundreds of Beavers and The Substance are two of the odder yet slicker movies I've seen in ages, but I have no clue if I liked either, haha. If you're bored, add them to your list.

I enjoyed substance a lot, especially the style, but the ending went a little too over the top in my opinion. I get what they were doing but it undercut some of the earlier parts I think.

I watched Hundreds of Beavers a while ago after my brother recommended it. It was definitely clever, but I felt it would work better as a 10 minute video. I pushed through and watched the whole 1h 48m, but oh boy I was ready to turn it off after about 20 mins yet stuck with it when my wife insisted. However the parts in the dam where probably my favorite and that isn't until the end.

Yeah. There are two spots where I would have stopped The Substance earlier, but I understand why it went where it went. The style was incredible, though. I watched a Making Of on YouTube, and there was a lot of brilliance going into getting the look they wanted on the budget they had and doing it practical.

But Hundreds of Beavers, done on their budget, is insane. I watched it with my SIL, who went to school for film and actually worked in the industry until COVID came just before she would have qualified for the union. She was mesmerized by the inventiveness. I have some limited experience doing editing and special effects, solely amateur (did both for a club in bschool), and yeah, the making ofs for that were just so clever.

You and others might also enjoy this film channel (an excellent one btw that I highly recommend) connecting The Substance to German Expressionism (in film).

We watched that the other day, and it makes connections to other movies that makes current cinema feel much more exciting

When time played is a component, and it is in grinding hardcore poe/diablo, the people who put the most time in will be the ones who have high ranks.
That's definitely not new... kind of a fact of the universe, no?

Imagin all the money Twitch and other influencer platforms could make if they replaced their troublesome, problematic, and overpaid streamers with new highspeed Ai Agents. Won't be long and we will get to see Tesla's Optimus refusing to show ID to the cops while demanding their names and badge numbers and arguing that they have a first amendment right to film in and on public property.

I was not prepared for The Substance when it went full body horror.
But Demi Moore, Margaret Qualley and Dennis Quaid were perfection. B+

Blue, no, I don't feel ashamed. I'm not the one coming on here calling everyone who cares what Elon Musk says/does pathetic. If you're censoring my post, then Prez' first post calling us pathetic should be censored as well. Or does going through a mental health crisis give someone impunity from having to follow the forum rules?

Hi Prez, nice to read you. If you don't get along with the therapist, try another one. There needs to be trust and understanding in a therapy between patient and doc. And get well soon, Prez. I miss you here.
And I also miss Burrito of Peace who hasn't posted here once in 2025. I hope he is good and is simply hiding in his bunker for the next 4 years which would be perfectly understandable.
