V Rising Sells 5M; Reveals Expansion Plans

Stunlock Studios celebrates the stunning news that V Rising has sold more than five million copies since the vampire survival game rose almost three years ago. It was announced last April that the game surpassed four million sales, so it continues to show its teeth. The announcement also reveals plans for a new expansion coming this year adding a new biome, a new faction, and new (yet ancient) technology. There's also the promise of a revamped progression system, a Fusion Forge, and "risk-free" PvP. All this and more are covered in a new Dev Update #28. Here's a bit:
“Hitting 5 million sales isn’t just a number, it’s a testament to the passion and dedication of our team and our incredible community,” said Rickard Frisegård, CEO at Stunlock Studios. “Our player's enthusiasm drives us to push boundaries and deliver even more unforgettable experiences. We’re excited to build on this success and deliver thrilling new experiences and content in 2025.”

Prepare for a vampiric evolution as Stunlock Studios is set to redefine the vampire experience with a big update coming in 2025. A brand-new biome awaits, teeming with uncharted territories, a deadly new faction, and ancient technologies ready to be claimed.

Players can also look forward to a revamped progression system featuring stat caps, a Fusion Forge for crafting ultimate builds, and risk-free PvP options like dueling, customizable castle arenas, and much more. These updates promise endless experimentation and thrilling battles, solidifying V Rising as a must-play title in the survival genre.

I don't know that I'd call it an expansion, but a big patch for sure! For the original asking price, it's definitely a solid game. I've hit the same walls as Frijoles and have definitely tweaked a few server settings for QoL (like reducing the effects of garlic and sunlight for the sake of not having to wait around so long). It's really nice that we get those controls to make our own experience.

Enjoyed the game quite a bit, but I didn't care fore the leveling/power process. It's been a while since I played, but if I remember correctly, you couldn't really grind to get stronger.Your gear upgrades were dependent on skills from boss fights. If you got stuck on a boss, you were SOL until you managed to kill it. In other games, you get better gear or skills by just grinding more until you are able to overpower the boss. I think that's why I stopped playing. I could spend my time getting gud or just play something else.

Been a while though so maybe I'm not remembering right. Glad to see they're doing well though since I did enjoy my time with it.
