They don't want to maintain the servers anymore, and if they sold it without online functionality, there's a legal standpoint someone could sue them for false advertising.

Never played any of the Dark Alliance games because I've never seen them on sale at any reasonable discount. In the case of the first two, I'm not paying thirty bucks (each) for PC ports of console titles that are over 20 years old. As for this one.....I remember the bad reviews at launch so have never bothered with it.

I agree with the garbage part though. Piece of shit got delisted because running the servers was losing them money every month.

This is reminiscent of some of the Warhammer licensed games that don't meet expectations and get abandoned by the developers as well. Gone are the days of the gold big box pc TSR games, but I guess we're lucky to have Solasta and BG.

I'm guessing the above, but i think it's an educated guess. Especially when mouthbreathing idiots shut down airports because ain't muh hobbie cool, something probably needs to be done.
