Cyberpunk 2077 Patched

A new patch is now available for Cyberpunk 2077, updating the sci-fi action RPG to version 2.2 on PC and consoles. This includes new content as well as tweaks and fixes, which is a little surprising after indications from CD PROJEKT RED that most of its developers were shifted to The Witcher 4 development. The Windows patch is available on GOG.com* and Steam, depending on where you bought the game. Among other things, this adds the chance that Keanu will call shotgun and be a scrub hanging out the passenger side of his best friend's ride. Here are details from this post:
With this patch you’ll be able to express yourself like never before — it includes over 100 new customization options for V, adds CrystalCoat™ compatibility for select vehicle brands, introduces a brand-new TWINTONE™ color scheme feature for CrystalCoat™-compatible vehicles, and more! Photo Mode also received a major overhaul with new camera options, aspect ratios, light sources and posable NPCs, just to name a few things!

Yep. Same here. Still haven't bought the game because the clowns keep patching it (adding content even because apparently four years is not enough to finish a game). Well, and because the Ultimate Edition is still waaaaaay too expensive.

We'll see... if they decide to keep the game feature- and content-incomplete and above $30 for the UE then I might not play this until the RTX 6090 .

Are you seriously complaining about getting free stuff in the game? This is mostly just moving mods into the main game that improve QOL for things like photo mode.

Turns out this was too late in the game, when it's no longer possible to deviate from the path or trigger the expansion.

According to the internet this is impossible. I don't see anyone complaining about it either.
I started looking for a mod for you... should have started the other way around

Nah, it's possible sadly in the Panam ending. My last save is out in the desert before you do the final run, and you can't do any other quest activity or use the fast travel system, etc.

The game is open ended, no matter the mission, including the main final, you can keep going in the open world, and you can start the expansion at that point according to everything I've seen.
Seems like it would be a very popular complaint if that was not the case, and yet nobody else had mentioned such a possibility.

Edit: Ahh, I found it... the game is programed to take you back to the last save prior to that mission. Depending on the ending, it may even transfer current/future items back to that old save.
So yep, you locked yourself... I kind of wonder what even happens for you when the game doesn't find that file it's looking for. Curious if they programmed in a graceful fail or not.
You might be the only person in the world to have done this very niche scenario, where you do have A save file, just not the one the game needs.

Might be able to trick it into restoring from cloud like that person.

I'm still so incredibly frustrated how things went w/ killing Phantom Liberty for me ...

I finished my Cyberpunk playthrough, and then habitually cleaned up my savegames, keeping only the very last one, very close to the end of the game. Turns out this was too late in the game, when it's no longer possible to deviate from the path or trigger the expansion.

So I can't play Phantom Lib with my original playhrough character sadly. I have to either start from the very beginning, or in any case start a new game and use the option to skip ahead to the expansion.

As a gamer with slight role-playing tendencies that just kills me - I want to play it with my character. Sigh.

I still have it on the todo to figure out if the savegame format has been sufficiently reverse-engineered (or whether I can help with that) to create a new savegame just before the point of no return and then splice over all my character etc. stats ...

Edit: https://www.nexusmods.com/cyberpunk2077/mods/718 looks promising

Why would you clean up your savegames? Did you need to free up some kilobytes for a jpeg file?

ROFL. Are u serious? Game will be like $20 by then. Huge savings incoming. Oh wait: the POS Ngreedia 6090 on the other hand will be, rough guesstimate, $3499. Jester

I will say this is the thing I enjoyed the most about Phantom, your choices set you on a path and only from there can ya make more choices that come down to A) This is gonna suck or B)This is REALLY gonna fucking suck. And no so much in a bad way, as for me personally it really connected me with the story and the path I chose.

With this patch gonna start my final run of the game that I have not run from start to finish (as a Corpo Female V), and this just adds more lovely to the fire.

But I'm rather surprised with how much work they keep adding to the game, why not keep going and do Cyberpunk 2077 Online with 2077?

There's an interesting note which I look forward to seeing some results on:
Optimized threading system to improve performance by up to 33% on Intel Arrow Lake based CPUs.
I'm guessing this likely has something to do with ARL not having HT, but I don't have the game installed and never played it on my new system so couldn't say anything first hand one way or the other.

May I introduce you to Terraria, No Man's Sky, Stardew Valley, Minecraft or every MMO ever?

Many patches does not a bad game make. It's a very strange attitude to dislike free content additions and/or bugfixes. No game will ever be 100% finished/patched, speedruns would be very boring otherwise.

And now to make my point completely moot: to each his own.

It was surprising, at best we thought we might get one more hot patch. However as they explain in the video, they hired a 3rd party developer to pump out some more patches, content. So while yes on their org chart there is literally no one at CDPR working on 2077, there is a whole external sub team working on it apparently. It was strongly implied on the stream that there will be another content update coming at some point as well. I'd wager the contracted team is fairly small dozen or so, thus these updates will take a while between releases.
