Delta Force Launches [Dec 04, 2024, 8:00 pm ET] – Share – Viewing Comments
Delta Force is now free-to-play
on Steam,
offering a return to the military shooter series begun by NovaLogic in 1998.
This is called an open beta, but with the promise of no server wipes going
forward, this is essentially a soft launch. This new release from Team Jade and
TiMi Studio Group no longer uses the voxel graphics of the original, but it does
highlight the same sort of squad tactics. To keep players on the right track,
this post has details on hardware and software prohibited and/or not
recommended for players of the game. Here's the

The iconic series returns as the definitive free-to-play modern team-based tactical shooter, and featuring four distinct gameplay modes:
- Warfare: battle the enemy across land, sea and air in truly epic 32 v 32 PvP combat, featuring a wide range of vehicles and unique tactical gear.
- Operations: Delta Force meets the next generation extraction shooter as you deploy behind enemy lines with your squad, search for valuables, take on rival players, and extract before it’s too late. Alternatively, our PvE Raid mode offers challenging objective-based missions designed to push your squad to the limit.
- Black Hawk Down: step into the boots of legendary Delta Force operators for this remake of the classic series campaign based on the gripping 2001 movie. Black Hawk Down, coming in January 2025.

One of the issues is that it's trying to do too many things. Having both a CoD and a Tarkov game mode in the same game means attention to each lacks a bit. It's not bad, but it's not bringing anything new or interesting to the table.

The game is a COD clone. I really cant believe they went this route with this franchise. SMH!!

If you feel the need to cut your IQ in half, read a steam thread about the anti-cheat (Anti-Cheat Expert (ACE))

The reviews on steam are...not great. most of the complaints seem to be centered on its kernel-level anti-cheat that interferes with Easy Anti-cheat, which is included in tons of much more popular games. You can't uninstall the anti-cheat, even if you uninstall the game, so the problem with other games will persist until you wipe your machine. BRILLIANT.
I have Fortnite installed because I love Rocket Racing, and that uses Easy Anti-Cheat. So I guess I won't be playing Delta Force.

The 32 v 32 is a slightly worse battlefield clone, the Tarkov mode seems like an easier Tarkov Clone. If you've played either you will know exactly how it works in Delta Force. The gun play feels very Call of Duty, there seems to be lots of options for gun modifications and it looks like if you unlock/loot guns in the Tarkov mode you can bring them over to the Battlefield mode?
I never played Tarkov but I've watched a lot of friends play so I'm interested to try out this "Tarkov light" mode, and the operators in the BF mode have some cool gadgets. You can run a 4 man squad in BF mode and a 3 man squad in Tarkov mode. I believe there's also a single player campaign. Of course there is an in game store and a season pass just like Battlefield 2042.
Also seems to run quite well on my rig:

I know. We have had them in Canada.
Gaming for me has always been 1 multiplayer FPS I play occationally with friends, while often playing some single player game on the side. For multiplayer FPS I really only like milsim or at least be somewhat realistic. I was a huge Battlefield fan, but that died off. Sure BF2042 is good now but almost dead at this point. The new COD is... terrible, other than Zombie mode.
I miss PUBG greatly, it's probably my favorite FPS of all time, much more reaslistic and well designed than some would give it credit for even if it is a bit janky I can live with that, but the US playerbase is quite small now and probably cheaters in every game.
Really need a new FPS. It's a shame we are at this point but Delta Force looks decent.

That's one of the three (four?) modes mentioned in the post.
I don't give a rip about extraction shooters, but I am interested in the 32 v 32 with vehicles mode.
