Russian propaganda is as fascinating to watch as USA's.
Both rely on the lack of critical thinking and knowledge of the targeted person. At least in the US you have the freedom to seek out information, while in Russia you risk imprisonment or ... "an unfortunate fall from the fourth floor" for seeking out free information.
It's far too easy to fall into an echo chamber that perpetually confirms your own position as true and good, while anything that dissents is evil and vile. And people who understand how to manipulate these echo chambers can shift the line over time.
