with certain Ubisoft games installed, after determining it was causing games to

install the update until this is resolved. Here's more:
After installing Windows 11, version 24H2, you might encounter issues with some Ubisoft games. These games might become unresponsive while starting, loading or during active gameplay. In some cases, users might receive a black screen. The affected games are:
- Assassin's Creed Valhalla
- Assassin's Creed Origins
- Assassin's Creed Odyssey
- Star Wars Outlaws
- Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora
Note: Ubisoft released a temporary mitigation for Star Wars Outlaws to prevent the game from failing and stop responding. You might still experience some performance issues.

I guess that's why the option to upgrade to Windows 11 suddenly disappeared for me. I was about to lu-REDACTED WTF IS WRONG WITH YOU?, er, bite the bullet and give in, but it probably went away since I currently have both Odyssey and Valhalla installed.
I am willing to call this a feature, not a bug.

Throw out perfectly good computers and not allowed to play paid for games--- wtg MS. Time for The gov't to intervene.
Clever, Microsoft, clever! Make playing Ubisoft games even more inconvenient, bringing down the shares price of Ubisoft even more, only to buy Ubisoft even cheaper in a few months. Well played, Microsoft!

I'm running build 26100.2454 (24H2) and Origins, Odyssey and Pandora all run without a hitch. Ran Odyssey through Steamworks and Ubisoft sign-in automatically and without a problem, I'm glad to say. Sometimes these bug reports are limited to certain hardware/software specifics that somehow are omitted.
It is well known that I cannot err--and so, if you should happen across an error in anything I have written you can be absolutely sure that *I* did not write it!...;)

Maybe but maybe not. I would bet this has to do with "undocumented features" that get leaned on and break things when the OS gets an update and that "feature" goes away.

Just Ubisoft's more recent games? I would love to know why that is.
The Microsoft fix is to use the Edge browser. It may not fix anything but ...
