Not sure where they got 10 seconds from, I'm on 24H2 and did that alt-tab while gaming thing a few times, it's a 2 second blank screen, then alt-tab back to game is still instant. Yes it could be 1-2 seconds faster but this article is a huge exaggeration. 24H2 is still the fastest version on of Windows yet on benchmarks I ran on my Ryzen.
And no they should not stop changing things, stagnation in tech is far worse than an occasional minor bug.

Maybe I'm old, but FFS Microsoft, stop changing things. They are all most all for the worse. And If you just haaave toooo, let us opt out and not use it. It took far too long for Win11 to support unstacked tabs in the taskbar.
