It was mindlessly stupid, but the wife and I enjoyed it, and she's put it on her guilty pleasures list.
It's nothing great, and it certainly could have been better, but there are FAR worse movies out there.

I don't get it, I thought the Borderlands movie was simple Saturday matinee fun, some of the sets gave the crazy Borderlands landscape wierdness, I will watch anything with Kate, there were a few good jokes, and the action sequences were fun. I guess you can't have mindless fun at the movies now unless you pay enough young influencers to gush over it.

My daughter tried watching the Borderlands movie at a friend's house and they turned it off almost immediately. The only things they said were "cringe" over and over with other random weird speak.
"Everything" that went wrong could have all been easily prevented by having a decent script to start with. Then it wouldn't have needed to sit on the shelf unfinished while they tried to figure out how to fix it after-the-fact.
