Life is Strange: Double Exposure Released

Square Enix announces Life is Strange: Double Exposure is now officially available for PC and consoles, following a brief Early Access for Deluxe Edition purchasers. The Windows edition of this supernatural adventure sequel is on Steam as a Standard, Ultimate, or Deluxe Edition. Here's the Launch Trailer and here's the strange tale:
LIFE IS STRANGE: DOUBLE EXPOSURE is a direct sequel to the original LIFE IS STRANGE game released in 2015. In the game, players will explore Max Caulfield’s newly evolved power to Shift between two parallel timelines. In addition, the new Pulse ability will allow Max to glimpse the opposite timeline before jumping through and overhear conversations happening on the other side, which is the perfect supernatural tool for an amateur sleuth.

Players can experience both aspects of Max’s new power to solve her friend Safi’s murder. As Max Shifts back and forth between two increasingly different timelines, her power will allow the players to complete unique puzzles, navigate complex campus social dynamics, and explore all the mysteries that Caledon University has to offer.

It's only Ultimate Edition that got the early release. I'm a total LiS sucker, so of course I bought that version and have been replaying the first 2 chapters for the last 2 weeks.

I'm loving the game so far, except for what they did with the relationship between Max and Chloe if you chose Bae (sacrifice Arcadia Bay to save Chloe). I still hold out (probably futile) hope that they will get back together by the end, though. But, the folks going insane over this and posting threats and all manner of vile hatred directed toward the devs and VAs and everyone else associated with it is just stupid. It's fiction. If you don't like where the creators took it, you don't have to accept it and can invent your own personal canon! I mean look at Highlander fans; we ignore basically everything in the franchise other than the first movie and the TV series; certainly, there has never been any movie called "Highlander 2" in existence! ;-) No need to kill the devs over it. Plus, you're talking about a game based around time travel and alternate universes. In this new game, you're explicitly traveling between those alternate universes. So, it's not hard to just mentally set this game as taking place in some alternate universe other than the one you imagine from the first game! Base your own personal canon on the story from the comics. Or whatever else you like.

I just hope Square Enix / Deck Nine didn't shoot themselves in the foot and doom future games in the series by pissing off a large portion of their fan base with the move. It would be a shame, since it really does seem to be a fun game and I'd like to see more. And, honestly, it would've been SO simple for them to NOT piss everyone off like this by just writing Chloe as being away doing something elsewhere so she couldn't be with Max during the game or something. *shrug*
