SAG-AFTRA "Optimistic" as Strike Continues

The Hollywood Reporter has a follow-up on last week's resumption of negotiations for a new contract for SAG-AFTRA actors performing in video games. Though no agreement was reached, the union announces that negotiations will continue, a hopeful sign for a work stoppage that's nearing the 100-day mark. There seems to be optimism the two sides are close, as word is the deal is 96% of the way there if our math is correct:
The union announced the decision on Saturday, adding that dates were not yet set and would later be announced. Meanwhile, the union’s strike against employers signed to its Interactive Media Agreement -— which is nearing its 100-day mark — continues.

“With tentative agreements on 24 out of 25 proposals, we are optimistic about reaching a final agreement soon as negotiations continue,” a representative for the companies told The Hollywood Reporter.

And now all of these companies have learned about the dangers of hiring these actors and will lean more into preparing an AI solution for the next strike.

Wonder how they will negiotiate then, when companies will have already implemented workable AI solutions and don't need the actors anymore.

I doubt there will be a next strike. They'll have the issues for AI doing VO work in short order, then it's, 'So long dental plan!'. Have any of you seen these AI short films on YT yet? Holy shitballs, Batman!
