Am I the only one that think this is the stupidest ruling I have ever heard? I mean what happened to innocent till proven guilty. I find it insane that a court would say yeah disconnect a person only accused and not even brought to a court yet on any charges.

It's the 5th circuit. There's a 50/50 chance that when they say "terminate" they mean like, with a gun. Their legal rulings frequently hold no basis in law and even when they do they are insane. There's a reason why I've heard them referred to as "feces flinging howler monkeys".

Along with making the executive branch too much like royalty, the founding fathers also screwed up massively with the basic design of the judicial branch, again with the royalty, anointed unchecked power for life.

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! What a Ride! - HT

The 5th circuit is known as the 5th circus in legal circles. This will get appealed and ether stopped by an actual court of law or make it to the Supreme Court. Hopefully not as there is little hope they will make a sane ruling.

I mean, Internet isn't a right protected by the constitution. private companies can do what they yada yada yada.

but this part is extra stupid:
"but affirmed the lower court's finding that Grande (the ISP) is liable for contributory copyright infringement." The ISP didn't steal anything...

Despite being against piracy, I have to say that "robbers used your road to drive to a bank to rob it, so you are liable for supporting the robbery" is a very, VERY stupid idea.
In the current political and social climate, don't be an aggressive monkey . Show that you have evolved that important thin sugar coating called civilization. Don't fall for the fools.

Courts always rule in favor of companies in a corporatocracy. Now Universal and Warner Bros can make an erroneous or spurious accusation (companies CONSTANTLY do this) and you will still lose internet.
"The assumption that animals are without rights, and the illusion that our treatment of them has no moral significance, is a positively outrageous example of Western crudity and barbarity. Universal compassion is the only guarantee of morality."
