Huh, weird you mention that as I'm giving serious thought to doing a new run through of Subnautica atm. I've been kinda' jonsing for some Subnautica. That or try going through Subzero once more. That just didn't have the same magic. I am, however, deep into 3 CRPGs though so I have a lot on my gaming plate atm.

Reinstalled it and started a new game recently myself. And I agree there was just something missing in Sub Zero; with one of the things being the wrecks you could explore. I love the mini-game of breaching a wreck, proceeding inside, and having your orientation go completely bonkers. Really ratchets up the sense of danger and panic, suddenly having no idea how you got so far inside and possibly not being able to get back out. Happened to me with the "horseshoe" wreck just the other night, even after I instituted my own life-saving protocol of repeatedly swimming farther and father in, then doubling back to memorize my route out. I've been tempted to try it on Hardcore, but still suffering PTSD from the last game I did hardcore on and stupidly died in. All that work.....then pfft.

Steven Spielberg is THE MASTER GAMER! I hate console controllers, too. Mouse and keyboard or GTFO is my credo, too, unless we are talking about a flight simulator (gimme my flight stick!) or a driving simulator (where is my racing wheel?).

Yeah, but the keyboard/ mouse controls are horrible.

I'm sad. I had a whole ramble about WASD being dumb then I accidentally refreshed the screen.

Short version: having controls on the extreme far corner of the keyboard instead of moving a few keys towards the center, thusly giving yourself nearly a dozen more keys to toggle with your pinky, is dumb.

I can't imagine Steven Spielberg sitting down to a PC and playing games. It just won't click for me. But if this is true, then I applaud him for his dedication to the PC Master Race! (Are we allowed to use that term thesedays?)

Agreed. As most of us exist before WASD was built into gaming, I put mine as ESDF. I still do today, but that requires changing every game first thing, and some games are really stupid about how you do that. But it gives me W and Q as easy access.
