Plexamp on my Android to stream my music from my Plex server, works brilliantly. Advantage is I can run it in my car or outdoors and always have access to all my stored music, plus it D/Ls album covers automagically. WinAmp was always on my daily driver Windows PC though. Now I've switched to Linux Mint, I can't get it to run properly, so switched over to Qmmp, which isn't as nice but does what I need it to do. Really excited to see what the open source community can do about modernizing it.
Audacious is available on Linux and has a Winamp look-alike skin available in the default install. It's what I use daily.

It would be nice to see WinAmp released for Iphone and Android, I much rather download my music and play it though a functional app then fucking AmazonMusic. That would shurley whip the lama's ass.

Winamp doesn't need to be updated. It doesn't need to stream, organize your files, or do anything else but play music. That's all it needs to do. Stop trying to shoehorn a hojillion things in to "apps".

I still play CDs, although I do have and listen to Sirius XM on a regular basis. I considered digitizing my CDs several times but never got around to it. In part because I couldn't find a device I liked, the Apple Nano was tempting, but I refuse to step into their garden.
Nope. It's the X1 Music Player (Not XI, my bad. Been translating Latin today and, yeah, 1=I) in the Play Store.

On the computer I've used VLC now for a while and Wimamp previous to that.Riahderymnmaddog wrote on Sep 25, 2024, 22:07:

I just use the XI Music Player on my Pixel. For just playing music stored on your phone, it is pretty simple. The screenshots show a bunch of shit I have never touched but none of it is forced on you.
