Any games that will require me to sign into PSN can frack right off. I'm playing it on a PC, not a Playstation.
And especially single player games...
Anyone else around here remember how much people bitched about Half-life 2 needing a Steam account?
Lorcin wrote on Sep 25, 2024, 18:59:I certainly do and everyone was right to. Early days of Steam were a damn nightmare and I didn't even care about HL2. I was heavily into CS at the time and suddenly being forced to use Steam which had so many server problems was infuriating. Nothing quite like a game which previously worked perfectly fine being held hostage by login servers that didn't. One of several reasons the "Steam saved PC gaming" crowd pisses me off.Simon Says wrote on Sep 25, 2024, 17:58:

Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition launched in August 2020 on Steam. The same game is getting a remaster only 4 years later. If you told me this lunacy before I heard it for myself I flat-out wouldn't believe you. What kind of drugs are they doing over at Sony? I have to get me some.
It came out in 2017 for the PS4, which is what the PC graphics are based on. It's more a remaster for the PS5 pro, and since it's out on the PC, why not release it there too. Seven years for a remaster for a new system isn't really that crazy. And considering its only going to be $10 if you own the previous version, it's a fair deal, considering the rerecording of audio, mo-cap, new models, etc. involved.
My game was released in 2020. If they wanted me to think that it released in 2017 then they should have done a PC release at the same time, shouldn't they?
But in reality, I had a PS4 in 2018 and I bought Horizon with it. However, a remaster after 7 years is ludicrous. Maybe it's all semantics now but words like "remaster", "remake", "reboot" etc used to have an actual meaning, and games just never got remastered after 7 years. That is so ridiculous that I can't believe that I am saying it. Hey, they can do it every 5 years, and just call them re-remastered, then re-re-remastered, then...

The most unneeded remaster ever.
