Follow-up
Laundry isn't the problem, its synthetic clothing. Simple solution, tax the shit out of it until people stop making it. Give subsidies for using organic cotton, linen or other organic natural fibers - organic fibers use way less water, no pesticides, etc. - instead. And they're starting to do really cool things with vegan leathers like mushroom leather - it's actually pretty amazing how they make it. Pretty soon the earth will be hot enough we'll all be walking around in shorts and tank tops only all the time anyway.
