So I have been on a medication categorized as an SSRI. An important thing about these types of medicines is that they cannot be quit cold turkey. Well they can, but it is advisable that you don't because of the potentially dangerous side effects of doing so. The VA psychiatrist put me on them about a month ago I guess ( I'm not very good at time any more) and it seemed to be having a positive effect overall. The side effects can be awful but this one was pretty tame. My meds ran out and a refill was not reordered as they promised it would be. My sister called the phone help line 3 times and verified that it was refilled. Well it wasn't, and after 4 days I had a very bad reaction that ended me up in the hospital. They gave me a tranquilizer and a strong anti-anxiety med and I improved quickly. At some point I sat up on the bed, looked down and saw that I was wearing the bunny slippers that BoP sent, the stupid bunnies' beady eyes staring saply up at me. My mood improved after that.
