Satisfactory Officially Launches

Satisfactory has officially departed Early Access after five years, and version 1.0 of the factory automation game is now rolling off the production lines. The official website has all you need to know about this project, and the game is available for Windows on the Epic Games Store and Steam with a 10% launch discount. The Launch Trailer celebrates the occasion and an ongoing Release Stream is live as of right now with thoughts from the developers. Here's the quick pitch:
Satisfactory is a first-person open-world factory building game with a dash of exploration and combat. Play alone or with friends, explore an alien planet, create multi-story factories, and enter conveyor belt heaven!

Conquer nature by building massive factories across the land. Expand wherever and however you want. The planet is filled with valuable natural resources just waiting to be utilized. As an employee of FICSIT it’s your duty to make sure they come to good use.

Is the co-op like a campaign or a private server or how does that work?

Well congrats on the release of v1. I’m in for another play-through.. attempt, that is. The early access game was a blast and gave me several looong nights of gaming. Game was also pretty solid with the occasional graphical glitch, no severe bugs though. This time I’m going to finish even the last tier (8) and send everything they want up the space elevator

Time to finally play. For the server stuff, it looks like you can run a server from the game. I did not see a browser, although you can specify a server to join. not sure if it is by IP or a name lookup.

Wohoo, feels like I've been waiting for ever! Picked it up today and played a couple of hours. It's OK so far. Seems pretty well optimized fps wise at least, and runs well on linux with Vulkan.

Previous versions on UE4 ran like crap on my 10 year old i5-4570. When the devs switched to UE5 it improved the performance DRASTICALLY. GPU in both cases a GTX 1060.

This is a game I want to like but every time I go to play it, I bounce off of it and grow bored quickly.

Will my old savegame file work with 1.0? I was dabbling with Satisfactory last winter, but I don't have it installed right now.

I changed from beta to standard setting in the steam menu and it did load my last beta savegame just fine.

It will work but some produced parts have been changed and some resource nodes have been added and others have been deleted, so you might have to change your production to adapt. Also, you might miss parts of the story if you don't start from 0. But in general, old saves do work.

I'm the same. What you can build is impressive but building without a purpose just doesn't do it for me. I wish there were reasons for building this stuff - creating a trade empire or something.

Good to hear. I was up to tier 6 I think or whatever nuke power was when I played earlier this year on a two year old save. I don't think I want to start over again any time soon.

Glad they finally got here I'd been playing Satisfactory Plus for a while before shapez 2 launched. I plan on diving in for a new base game playthrough soon as they've got new tier, tweaked manufacturing requirements and some story beats. Satisfactory Plus is an insane mod that I don't recommend for anyone until they've played the base game and want something infinitely more complex.

They moved a lot of nodes around so chances are decently high things changed and it wouldn't be worthwhile revisiting.

Yessss, tier 9 is pretty crazy I’ve heard… as is Satisfactory in coop mode.

Game looks great, they added so many features with EA and visually it's like a showcase for UE5 now (btw as is The Talos Principle 2).

1.0 adds a background story. ma not be great, but it’s probably a reason…

Whaaat, there's no reason to build massive, planet-spanning factories? At least The Riftbreaker and some of the other build/survival games, you're building to escape/go home/defeat the hordes, etc.

Sounds like the only way to win is to not destroy the ecology of this alien world, and just slowly starve to death, motionless, on the planet.

reason to keep playing...? There is a story now and many new milestones, tiers, machines, products, alien matter and achievements in v1.0 however not everyone gets joys from creative building type games.

Well, even five years ago when I was playing this, you had an objective of building the space elevator I think.
