You know, it is okay to not give a single solitary fuck about where the devs might live or how they spend their money. You are not in fact supporting anything or making any statement other than "hmm, this game looks cool. I'm going to buy this game". You don't in fact need to justify what you buy or be judged for it. I sometimes feel the need to say that because I wonder if people know that not everything is a crusade or a cause or says anything about you as a person.

I get what you're saying, but I'm really not trying to contribute financially to any ongoing genocides, if I can avoid it.

Most Russians despise the war and don't support it.

Trust me, your not buying the game is not going to change a thing. In fact, the studio already got their money to develop the game. Its Focus who is colleting the sales on this, Not Saber. So, holding out is not going to change anything.

The whole game is letterboxed not just cutscenes. I would wait if you can and see how well it is implemented.
Turns my 38 inch monitor into like a 30 inch, lol.

Boycotts absolutely work - if they have sufficient momentum. Boycotts were what ended apartheid in South Africa - even though the Reagan Junta openly supported apartheid. And sadly, Putin enjoys wide support in Russia, though that will fall if Ukraine can continue to take the fight to them. And it's not as easy as just saying, 'Leave and go somewhere else.' Just because people stay and work in a place like Russia doesn't mean they're for what's happening anymore than the average German was with the Nazi party. It's dangerous not to go along or to speak out against the powers that be. There are many reasons people must stay in a place they'd rather not. Still, the sooner things become untenable for the average Rooskie, the sooner they'll cast the tyrant down and be free - of at least that tyrant. Focus should absolutely be punished for doing business in Russia, unless you're pro-fascist.
Remember what the Scorps said...."Take me to the magic of the moment on a glory night, where the children of tomorrow dream away...in the wind of change....

So about the actual game: I did not realize that it's designed as Coop-first so you get bots in single player mode and it does not feel as organic as a pure solo campaign. For example you always get the same set of objectives i.e. kill waves, defend stuff rinse and repeat. Still, the presentation and the brutal combat make me come back despite all that
