Most Russians despise the war and don't support it.
This is not true at all by the way but pure wishful thinking.
The most recent polls by the
Levada Institute which is the only "independent" institute of its kind in Russia show that 78% of Russians support the aggression war on Ukraine.
This number has been consistently high since the invasion and the only times support has crumbled (slightly) was when Russians were directly affected by the war, namely when Putin drafted more troops last year and as a reaction to the Kursk invasion by Ukrainian troops. The Russians don't want the war in their own country.
The vast majority of Russians do not give a shit about Russian bombs/missiles on schools, hospitals, kindergartens, apartment blocks, markets, civilians or about Russian troops raping women or abducting children. They only care (a little) when their own lives are affected negatively. That's the very sad and regrettable state of affairs...
