She got off VERY lightly compared to what I was used to. But the Navy doesn't have to disclose the full punishment, so she might be suffering more serious repercussions that they weren't required to disclose under the FIA.

Really? REALLY?!
But as to your response, considering how much of a security risk she has proven herself to be, she would be lucky to get out as leading enlisted mess hall custodian.

Can I be like Darth Vader and alter the deal? I will not post pictures of me in my bunny slippers unless you join this year's sportsball pickems group. Yeah! Got him!!
Marrero was relieved in late 2023 after repeatedly misleading and lying to her ship’s command about the Wi-Fi network

Why didn't she get a dishonorable discharge? Is it because she's female or the military is facing a shortage of personnel? And I mean not just because she did it in the first place, but demonstrated zero remorse over it.Marrero was relieved in late 2023 after repeatedly misleading and lying to her ship’s command about the Wi-Fi network
In the private sector you'd be fired with cause for shit like that. Hell, people get fired all the time for a hell of a lot less. If the worst she suffered is a demotion she'll do it again, and so will her co-conspirators. Something you cannot afford in the military especially.

Well I hope so. You could never put a person like that in a position of trust ever again. I think cleaning the latrines on a laundry ship for the rest of her time would be a good punishment.
The military is not letting you off that easy. Once you're in, you have to commit a very serious crime for them to immediately discharge you. You'll probably wish they had dishonorably discharged you by the time they are done with you.

was this kind of extra curricular fuckery common when you were in? seems like someone in a leadership position got a little carried away with the disciplinary leeway they can usually get away with. but lying to superiors multiple times is clearly crossing a lne.
