In the private sector you'd be fired with cause for shit like that. Hell, people get fired all the time for a hell of a lot less. If the worst she suffered is a demotion she'll do it again, and so will her co-conspirators. Something you cannot afford in the military especially.
Well I hope so. You could never put a person like that in a position of trust ever again. I think cleaning the latrines on a laundry ship for the rest of her time would be a good punishment.
The military is not letting you off that easy. Once you're in, you have to commit a very serious crime for them to immediately discharge you. You'll probably wish they had dishonorably discharged you by the time they are done with you.
