Out of the Blue

Life comes at you fast, and to help prove the point, tackle football season is now once again upon us. Tonight is a terrific opener for the NFL as the Ravens take on the champion Chiefs. There's another game tomorrow night in Brazil, of all places. Brazilians love football, but Pele didn't wear a helmet, and that passion is directed at an entirely different sport, so that should be interesting. Anyway, this means there's still time to get in on the ground floor of the Pigskin Pick'em 2024 Blue's News Group (password "bn"). It's free to join, free to play, and there's nothing at stake but pride, but you can't put a price on that. Feel free to share the link and password, and good luck to all participants.

I suppose that is true. As I said, it doesn't matter. I look at two Amazon productions, "Rings of Power" and "Fallout" . The first has an intensely unlikeable protagonist and seemingly revels in bad writing and nonsensical situations and dialogue, while the second is a fantastic, smart, well-acted, and excellently written tale that is true to the lore and spirit of it's namesake. I've had people who will equally be supportive of me not liking "Rings of Power" because of its "wokeness" and incredulous that I like "Fallout" in spite of its "wokeness". I can't help but be equal parts amused and sad for them. I hope such people can find happiness one day, because they sound anything but happy now.

I didn't get that impression at all from Rings of Power.
I actually had to keep re-reading your post to make sure I was following correctly.
Didn't like the lead in Fallout at all and the plot there was middling.

Well differing opinions are a thing. I hated RoP. But my son really likes it. I found Lucy in Fallout very likeable and believable because of how people are portrayed when living in vaults. Her naivety giving way to a more sardonic worldliness is what I call an arc. Good characters need them. But that's why there's more than one thing to watch on TV.
"The assumption that animals are without rights, and the illusion that our treatment of them has no moral significance, is a positively outrageous example of Western crudity and barbarity. Universal compassion is the only guarantee of morality."
