I suppose that is true. As I said, it doesn't matter. I look at two Amazon productions, "Rings of Power" and "Fallout" . The first has an intensely unlikeable protagonist and seemingly revels in bad writing and nonsensical situations and dialogue, while the second is a fantastic, smart, well-acted, and excellently written tale that is true to the lore and spirit of it's namesake. I've had people who will equally be supportive of me not liking "Rings of Power" because of its "wokeness" and incredulous that I like "Fallout" in spite of its "wokeness". I can't help but be equal parts amused and sad for them. I hope such people can find happiness one day, because they sound anything but happy now.

I didn't get that impression at all from Rings of Power.
I actually had to keep re-reading your post to make sure I was following correctly.
Didn't like the lead in Fallout at all and the plot there was middling.

I've said this before, but I don't care about what agendas or messages or whatever else is in or perceived to be in media. I literally don't care. Overwatch characters were compelling and exciting. Concord characters were boring and completely lifeless. I don't care about anything beyond that.
This might be shocking to some who are inclined to notice every time a non-white, non-male, non-hetero, non-attractive character is in a game and needs to evaluate the "appropriateness" of it. But I don't notice it. At all. I notice if the gameplay is compelling. If the world is lively and well-established. If the writing and dialogue are good. If the characters are likeable and interesting. I have to see some self-important blowhard yelling about it on YouTube or read the bickering on here before I even think about it. Then I get annoyed that people waste so much time arguing this nonsense back and forth. Or, more to the point, I get annoyed at myself that I wasted time watching or reading it.

Apparently it's political to have characters others don't want to fuck.

Did you ever play Overwatch? I would say "who wants to fuck Junkrat, or Roadhog. Or Zarya. Or Moira." And yet, there's SO much rule 34 for all of them. Heroes in gaming don't have to be conventionally attractive. But they have to be interesting and fun.

As Concord flops, Sony exec says company doesn't have enough original IP.
The issue is that Sony backed a product that heavily pushed a political agenda, which led to swift and massive pushback. If Sony had pushed the developer to focus on non-political elements with a strong, lengthy single-player story, Concord might have become a genuinely unique offering. I mean, I would’ve probably played something like that, especially since Blizzard scrapped the story mode for Overwatch 2—a feature many were really excited about.
All I can say to their decision is "FRNxT GHRT sony GURM" and then point to random things.
