Nooooooope . The one and only REAL summer a.k.a meteorological summer starts on June 1st, not on Midsummer's Day which is usually June 21st (w/o looking it up prolly also June 22nd this year cuz leap year).

All of the major meteorological shifts (give or take a few days, of course) happen around these dates, i.e. March 1st for spring, June 1st for summer, September 1st for autumn/fall and December 1st for winter.

These are the one and only true science-based dates for the start of the seasons. Sure, one can be a simpleton and go by the calendrical/astronomical dates but why would ya when there is a science-based alternative? Right? Riiiiiiiiight?

I really enjoyed James Darren as Vic, the holographic jazz singer on DS9. "It's Only a Paper Moon" was such a great song/episode and a perfect metaphor for Nog's PTSD and recovery. The moment when Vic realized it was contributing to Nog's downward spiral and told the computer to end the program, forcing Nog to leave the holodeck, was incredibly powerful.

Every time I have to drink Starbucks bc I am away from home, it is consistently awful. I guess their popularity stems from their other products.

I was planning on dressing all white today, just to give that fashion rule the middle-finger as I do every post Labor Day, but I have to go get some lumber and stuff from the lumberyard so white really isn't conducive to that. Maybe I'll go out for a beer or two later in all white just to keep in form. Anyway, glad we're headed into Autumn, I just fucking hate summer now with its too humid bullshit. If I could find a place that was Fall year round, I'd live there if possible.

My local shop can’t, and wouldn’t if they could, make a frothy frozen syrupy Frappuccino “coffee” drink. But that doesn’t stop every tourist, whose only exposure to the bean is Starbucks, from asking for one.
There is a shop in town that has all the jugs and bottles of syrups that can make you that 1799 calorie upside down pumpkin spice latte with extra whip cream should your pancreas so desire.
