Starfield Gets Free Content Today; Expansion Next Month

A post on Steam announces the Shattered Space for Starfield will launch on September 30th, adding a story expansion that introduces a mysterious new faction to the mix. Owners of the game will be able to buy this a la carte, while those who purchased the pricier Premium Edition or Constellation Edition are entitled to a copy at no additional charge. In the meantime, this update announces a new update is live in the game right now, adding a new land vehicle and more. Here's the Official REV-8 Trailer and here's more:
Starfield’s latest free update is here and is bringing a highly-requested feature: the REV-8 land vehicle! Now is your chance to explore new frontiers (and reach new heights) in your very own land cruiser.

Ready to head out in the REV-8? Visit your favorite city’s ship technician to install a vehicle module and you’re good to go! Once you have the module in your ship of choice, the REV-8 will automatically deploy right outside your ship wherever you land. You can even show off your personal style by customizing the REV-8 with unique colors.

So, the vehicle is pretty fun. Its got a lot of Mako vibes from mass effect, both ME1 and Andromeda. It can and will glitch out at times. It also will bump into anything and everything.

You can drive it around inside major cities and run into and over people resulting in the guards reacting. However I noticed when you drove it into Stores the vendors did not react, but otherwise civilians react to you driving around endangering them. So that's nice.

To me this feels like an after thought. The vehicle does not feel like it grip's the surface in a realistic manner. So a racing game this isn't.

Also one of my first fast travel crash to desktops! A staple of modded Bethesda games returns. And on a not vehicle related note, my companion spent a underground mine clearing quest with his head stuck under the level loading door and not moving.
