Red Dead Redemption PlayStation description does not include any
mention of a PC edition of the first game in the western shooter series. But it
did, according to the reliable
Wario64 on X, who offers a shot of the listing that seems to clearly confirm
that a long
rumored PC port of the
2010 FPS is on the way. In this now-removed
description of what PC players can expect:
Featuring the complete single-player experiences of both games, including bonus content from the Game of the Year Edition, Red Dead Redemption features all of the 2023 console version upgrades plus PC specific enhancements including support for increased resolutions and framerates, multiple displays, and other accessories, plus spatial surround sound.*

RDR 1 on Switch makes this irrelevant - I can just put the console on pause, go and do stuff (feed the Fell beasts, put Shelob through the car wash), then come back and continue from where I left off.
So convenient.

Yes, but I wouldn't play it chronologically. There's too much of a shift in tech and quality of life improvements that would make returning to the first harder than playing it first.
That said, i consider both to be masterpieces, especially if the DLC comes for the first game. Such a shame they didn't do an Undead Nightmare for the second.

Fuck all that. I will absolutely revisit this as long as it isn't a complete dumpster fire of a port (very unlikely since even the Switch version they released last year is supposed to be quite good).

It's guaranteed to be even more (a LOT more) jarring on PC than RDR 2 or GTA V. Maybe on a deep, deep discount one fine day...
