Bad comedy? Uninteresting characters and disjointed plot? Sounds like a faithful adaptation of the game to me.

I was surprised to hear that a Borderlands movie was even attempted. It's a fun game, but the story and lore don't grab my attention. It's satisfying gunplay and lootsplosions, with frequent comedic dialog (often breaking the 4th wall) to break up the monotony. A fun loop, repeated over and over. Never really cared about the characters.

EDIT: I might pay to listen to an hour of Mr. Torgue, though.

Battleship is my wife's guilty pleasure. She watches it over and over. It's a fun romp if you turn off your brain.

But my ultimate guilty pleasure is The Core. I think it's because it reminds me of old 1950s sci fi movies that were totally wrong on the science, and yet took themselves seriously. You have to turn your brain off, but it's such a fun ride.

Wouldn't it have been better to create a TV series in the style of Netflix's Arcane?

Arcane was an amazing show, but the setting was just a minor ingredient as to why it turned out to be great. The story, the writing, the characters were the real reason why that show worked. If you make a Borderlands TV show, unless you have awesome writers with a great story in mind all you're going to get is another turd.

Yup. Arcane actually cared about who its characters were and why they did what they did, rather than just mashing cool costumes together.
This was never going to have that, also, it had Eli Roth, which virtually guaranteed it would be trash.

I would love to have seen the original script by Craig Mazin. He was as diplomatic as possible when he took his name off the film, but they must have changed almost all of it for him to do that. It's almost never a good sign when a film sits on the shelf for that long, Cabin in the Woods being one of the exceptions...

Alien versus Predator (a game crossover in the other direction, I guess) is my favorite low-regarded movie to drink a lot of beer to.

Not surprised. This is a tricky one to adapt for the big screen or TV. I think they would have to town down the cartoony side and insert it and the humour Deadpool style. Just my take.

As for fallout..yes they did a good job. I got a bad vibe first half. Same happened when I played it, just like when I started BioShock. It went away of course. Then I had to resign cause I abused the fast forward and missed close to half. (Played the game back in the days so it was easy to fill the blanks).

I miss the Wing Commander movie. Second place is Warcraft.

I don't think Warcraft was actually a bad movie.

Warcraft was actually a lot better than I thought it would be. Definitely not in the "so bad it's good" category. I recently rewatched it and as far as standard fantasy fare goes, if you're a fan of the Warcraft universe I would give it a solid 7 out of 10. It has issues with some visuals and costumes but it's really not a bad flick at all if you can ignore that.

No surprise here. The trailers alone were terrible so the full product also being a dud was hardly unexpected.
