Out of the Blue

We're about free from the siding project, as the workers have removed the scaffolding from our house. So we're almost out of the woods, though they'll still have to move their tools and stuff along a bit more before we can start parking here again. But we're right there, and it's a relief to put this behind us.

I mentioned picking up the meme RPG Raid: Shadow Legends when I busted my elbow in my car accident. I'm actually still playing, so I want to give a shout-out to my friends in the Overlook Gaming cluster for being so fun and awesome. Hey guys!

As a result, I think I need to buy a new PC. I built this one in 2015, and have hardly used it in the past 3 years. 6 weeks is a good amount of time to go through... something. Cyberpunk? BG3? No clue.

I was just looking at pretty extreme builds, but I don't touch it enough. I think I'm going to try to go for a $1300-$1500 build. There's a Microcenter near me, which helps a lot.
Since you no longer game like a teenager I would dump the 4090 for a 4070 ti super, saving ~$800.
I don’t know what else I’d trim from the extreme build.

I'm thinking 7800x3d and 4070 super. Can do the whole thing approximately $1500.
I can’t see you going wrong with that.

James Cameron indicated that it was likely that the submersible's early warning system alerted the passengers to an impending delamination of the hull.[83]: 08:05  He added "we understand from inside the community that they had dropped their ascent weights and were coming up, trying to manage an emergency."[83]: 08:13  Simulations suggest the implosion of the vessel took less than one second, likely only tens of milliseconds, faster than the brain can process information; there would not have been time for the victims to experience the collapse of the hull, and they would have died immediately. From the wiki
We will probably never know what happened.
My gut tells me that people experience more terror when a 737 seesaws while pilots fight with the MCAS system, or a door panel pops off causing rapid decompression or they look out the window and see flames.
Those are the folks who should get millions.

As for the Titans “early warning” system. It’s probably similar to what those dogs experienced when one bit into a Lion power bank. One second everything’s fine, and then poof.
Thankfully their was a doggy door.

Fuck that overpriced nvidia garbage, get an AMD card. 7800 XT is good enough, or you can get a 7900XT for under $700 or a 7900XTX for for around $900. I was on team green for my entire adult life going back to a TNT2 but I finally jumped ship to AMD, these fucking clowns are trying to push 12GB cards for $700 in 2024 and they have completely gutted the mid range market.

Having put over 200 hours into BG3 I can heartily recommend it. I bounced off Cyberpunk twice, but that was before they 'fixed' it so am planning on trying again.
