game magazine has ended operations after 368 issues spanning 33 years. The
statement does not give any indication that the website or any of the operation
will continue going forward:

From the early days of pixelated adventures to today's immersive virtual realms, we've been honored to share this incredible journey with you, our loyal readers. While our presses may stop, the passion for gaming that we've cultivated together will continue to live on.

Good old days. I remember endlessly staring at previews of games I was obsessively looking forward to, even cutting out pieces to stick on my desk and walls. One of such "previews" was Outcast 2, concept art of a game that never came.

The gaming magazines have run their course, but there was a certain magic to that era that I miss.

For about 10 years I had a sub to PC Gamer and a sub to Game Informer. You know, back in the final years of the magazinic era.
Back in the hey-day I never read Game informer. I was a computer gaming world fanboy, on the rare occasion my mother could afford to buy me a magazine.
Shame to see such long lived things like these die off.
