The really funny thing about this to me is the "recommended" temperature for getting your best sleep is supposedly 65 (give or take a couple of degrees). So, if you follow the suggestions in that article you are making it more difficult to get good sleep, by letting the temperature go up for sleep. For years I had my thermostat set at 80 for the summer. Since I have a whole house dehumidifier, just that really makes the house feel much cooler here in the Midwest. But the last couple of years it has been slipping down. Last year I went down from 78 to 76, and I go down to 74 overnight. I tried 72 overnight for a while, but it was too cool for me. Which is kind of odd, because in the winter I usually have the thermostat set at 68-70 and it feels fine.
