Skinner box, the game. Humanity's suffering increases. 
It's a clicker game, which is a popular genre of games. But it's also a meme game. However, unlike other clickers, Banana is dynamic with community created content that appears every 3 and 18 hours. So I see the... appeal (sorry).
The most exercise some people get is jumping to conclusions.
Of course it's not a scam. What you see is what you get, and nothing is hidden.
What it is is a money-making tool that leverages customers' desire to grow their money, by creating the possibility that something may go up in value, leading people to buy while the developer gets a cut. Anyone who looks at it will quickly see that supply and inventory exist entirely in secret, and entirely at the developer's whim, which makes it a very, very stupid investment.

In the strictest sense, perhaps not. Or not exactly. But if not a scam, then it is the most cynical and greedy release this side of Activision or EA.
