I can't remember as it's been a while since I saw it, but wasn't her character told just before the events of the movie that she was pregnant? I think I remember I had the same reaction until they explained that.
I mean, who would think bringing something that doesn't have an off button or spatial awareness to an invasion of sound activated super killers...
