Are you recommending that over the multiplatform release of Monster Hunter Stories?

Yes, definitely. Should be a much more fulfilling experience. Right now my game rotation is this, Persona 5 Royale, Xenoblade 3, Dragon Quest XI (all on Switch) and Tales of Arise (on Deck). Not biased against PC games (I recently finished BG3 at 201.5 hours) but the Switch currently has a really, really good library if you're into RPGs (and especially JRPGs).

I admit despite the childish, cartoony vibes it puts off, the gameplay of #2 was enough to keep me hooked through endgame. I'm curious about this one, but if story isn't a concern, would it even be worth it? I know it has a few things that didn't make it into MHS 2, but MHS 2 should probably be the better overall experience, right?

I have Monster Hunter Stories 2 but can't quite get into it - any pointers appreciated. Thank you!

The big multiplatform (re-)release today is Shin Megami Tensei V Vengeance - reviews are excellent (and I just picked up my pre-ordered copy).
