It's obviously late considering all the existing mods and remasters the game has gone through, but I suppose if you haven't played in a while and want to revisit it, the new mods will be nuts.

I'm excited to get a 3rd playthrough going at some point, but ironically, I want to go in at it with minimal mods beyond what the remaster edition provides. Perhaps some additional that may improve texture quality, but I like to keep the original representation intact for the most part. That HalkHogan mod has always been my go to install before playing. Keeps the original intact while updating the quality.
HD Project Reworked is included in the base game now with the Next Gen update - you do not need to incorporate Halk's mod until he releases V12 (or is it 13?) which is hopefully releasing this summer... --edit to add: see this modlist of unnecessary mods now included in NG:
Most of my mod list is texture and model changes. I love the recent changes to low-tier armor like Temerian or Cidarian armors, which look downright wearable now. New outfits for Dandelion (get him out of his peacock outfit, i know it's lore-accurate but it looks silly to me). 4K updates to main characters, hair changes, a braid for Yennefer. Young Ciri is a fun one too. The Killing Monsters Cloak is nice (the cloak from the trailer). Darker Nights... man the list goes on and on.
I'm really looking forward to what this modkit allows the community to create. My vision for something I'd like to attempt, or consider attempting, is simple changes to dialogue camera placement. Instead of shot-for-shot I'd like to change the camera to show more pulled-back shot composition, maybe a few birds' eye views. No changes to animations within the dialogue scenes but just different angles on it. Subtle changes like these to new play thrus really add a lot for long time players.
What a game!

Cool. I'll keep that bookmarked for whenever I give it another go.
