IMO dayZ engine is clunkly and unfixable and the anti cheat doesnt work, I thought they are working on dayz2?
Given how sparsely populated those sorts of places are IRL I don't know why that would make a good setting. In the event of an actual zombie apocalypse it would be a logical choice to set up base in right behind an island somewhere.

It will be interesting to see how it compares to Namalsk. Console folks should be really stoked for a new map like this since they can't play Namalsk.

Sounds about right. I recall in the early 2000s, most expansions and DLC for games typically took you to a cold/snowy climate location. They're not even that interesting, but seems to be the norm. Perhaps because it's easier to use a white color palette to build around and it doesn't need to go into as much detail? I'm not sure, but it seemed to be a common theme.
