I know someone that works in Ad sales for a large tech company. I don't think a lot of people realize that there's an entire business-facing product provided by the big tech companies that users never see, and it's constantly being updated with new features for the advertisers -- which also means new bugs are getting constantly added. The big advertisers on places like Facebook will literally spend millions of dollars a week and get very hands-on support. If this is a bug as Facebook says, then Facebook will be refunding the money. The person I know has to refund advertisers all the time because of some bug or another getting introduced into their system.
