its a difference of scale, can you consume and learn from thousands of videos per whatever time unit the AIs eat them at?
I can accept that, except the 'rules' don't specify scale. Not that I have seen anyway. It's surely a case of being completely unforeseeable when the rules were written, but amend them rather than just make shit up as you go along.
if you read the youtube tos it talks about being restricted to non-commercial use (which the AIs fail) and that access via automatic means is basically only for public search engines
and that was just a cursory glance, so i think there are a lot of rules that the AIs can potentially fall foul of

Sorry Youtube CEO, but the AI train has already left the station, and Bing/Copilot just swiped Google's lunch.

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! What a Ride! - HT

Machine learning is nothing like human learning at all. OpenAI doesn't learn, it appropriates and launders.

The fine-grain particulars of how that data is stored and retrieved is different, but there's nothing magical about human brains, and they are as prone to regurgitating the input as AI is. The vast majority of human creative output is utter repetition of no value. For example, network television.
Do you have a single fact to back that up?

So you say. I see no difference myself. What I see is a bunch of money hungry cretins worrying how they are going to make sure every last penny goes to them and no one else. 'AI' is the future. As long as it's MY AI.

YouTube CEO warns OpenAI that training models on its videos is against the rules

What does 'against the rules' mean exactly? And why is using a video off of your platform violating them? YouTube vids are for general consumption. If I watch a video on YouTube and I learn something I didn't know before that may help me make more money in my career, did I violate the rules? Do the rules make a distinction between a human learning something and a machine learning something?
