Max Payne Pre-orders Detained at the Border

A .plan update by George Broussard has word that that due to problems with customs at the Canadian border (I'm guessing Max refused to surrender his firearms), their copies of Max Payne intended for those who pre-ordered the game have been delayed, and will be going in the mail this afternoon, rather than a couple of days ago as was originally planned. The update also mentions that the 3D Realms web server bonked, and as a result, the messageboards will be offline until next week sometime, a case of truly unfortunate timing with a new game on the shelves. According to the update, those who pre-ordered Max Payne from 3D Realms should expect delivery Friday. Update: An update on the 3D Realms website confirms that all their pre-orders have now shipped as promised.

The 3D Realms forums are down and I'm wondering if it's possible to import a full game LTB file.
Also wondering how you compile the dang .LVLs

If you have Halflife, try The Opera... it is in same genre as Max Payne; Woo-action.

Because 3DR said they'd deliver, and they didn't. Simple as that. It wasn't their fault, but the blame must fall on them, imo.

The game is good, but pure copied from Matrix, the slow mo, the dodging, the cinematics when it slows down and camera pans and so on....BUT the game still kicks ass, ending was kinda stupid unless they coming with a sequel....

It is essentially a timed hazard course, with fire being the obvious hazard. You have to run through the various rooms, get by an obstacle or two, et cetera. From the very beginning, move to the right (so you'll be going up the other aisle) and go straight; this should take you through the double doors on the right side of the bar and not get you flamed in the process. I am sure that you can figure out the rest. Keep on moving...

In the manor,
Ray

I'm against warez for everything it does for the gaming industry. But on the other hand, Iwant to by Max Payne and I'm not sure if my computer ca handle it.Since they will release a demo in only 3-5 weeks.I would like to know if you got some site where I could find it.

P.S.:Don't tell me about the min. sys. requirement. I have something a little better then what they ask.. But i'm am supposed to get a score of at least 900 on 3Dmark2001 and I only get 680.

I intend to buy the game.I want the box,the manual and the CD.

HELP ME PLEASE

Imagine what the mutiplayer would be like anyway.....

Everyone slowing down time to shoot eachother?? how would that work......

they would obviously have to get rid of that feature for multiplayer, therefore, hurting the fun for multiplayer.

I, too, am glad that they spent time on a story rather than just cranking out a great looking multiplayer game.
(im not bashing those, i play em every day)

Quit designing for the elite few that have HI SPEEED and like that and you guys will sell more games. Single player
is better cause more guys do it than multiplayer.

I am glad Max is SP

Yes I'm pretty positive about this after frequenting the 3D Realms Max Payne forum for about a year now... My take on the whole multiplayer issue is that I'm glad they focused solely on the singleplayer experience. There are so many other multiplayer-only games I'd rather be playing, but the gaming world is really in need of great single player experiences (imo).

For #78

Hmm, I stand corrected. Personally, I don't care if there's multiplayer or not, as I am happy that Remedy chose to focus on single player. I had heard that any multiplayer experiences would come in mods, but as you have said, it looks like that won't be happening either. Are you positive about this?

Either way, I was just stating this to make the original poster feel happy, since he seemed to want to have a MP expereince with MP (that's multiplayer with Max Payne ... nevermind).

There's obvious gameplay problems with Max Payne multiplayer, which I mentioned, but I am still surprised that Remedy would leave their engine out of the world of multiplayer.

Read the posts, most seem to agree, this is an astonishing game. I just finished it, and still trying to sort out all of the unique, creative things that set Max Payne so completly apart from the crowd. What a great experience. The closest I have ever come to actually being in an action movie. Yeah, the AI was vicious, and Max could have used a little kevlar. But, OMG. The entire game is just one amazing visual treat outdone by the next, relentlessly. Remedy has more than raised the bar for gaming, they have completely changed the sport. Thanks guys for such a great game.
