I get a lot of the criticism that Ubisoft games get. You could storyboard a generic plot and some basic side missions and plug them into a shocking number of their games. A dead family member at one point was the catalyst for every Ubisoft game in existence. They are repeatedly releasing microtransaction-laden garbage and now have moved onto live service garbage. But all of that - I mean ALL OF THAT - is corporate mandate and interference. Ubisoft's board and the company that they contract with to clean their company bathrooms could be swapped out in their entirety and it is completely inarguable that the decisions made could not be any worse. They might not get better, but they in no way conceivably be any worse.
When talking about Ubisoft programmers, designers and artists, I think they, at least based on what I have seen, are exquisitely talented. They very well might represent the pinnacle of the state of developers in the industry. Instead of disposing of them, get rid of the fucking board. I'd be willing to bet that the best one in that lot has less importance to making a game than the lowest of the 45 just laid off.
