Frostpunk 2 in July

Be prepared for a frosty summer, as 11 bit studios announces Frostpunk 2 will launch for Windows PC on July 25th. This society survival sequel is now available for preorder on Steam, and those who opt for the Digital Deluxe edition will also gain access to a seven-day beta next month. The Date Reveal Trailer is here with a look at the news, and here are some cool details:
Diving even deeper into the post-apocalyptic abyss, Frostpunk 2 builds upon the foundations that made its predecessor a triumph. It thrusts players into a world of unyielding realities and complex social dilemmas within an ever-expanding city. With a broader scope and expansion in every aspect of the gameplay mechanics, Frostpunk 2 escalates the tension as you steer the City and its inhabitants into an uncertain future.

Much of that tension comes from introducing different factions within the City walls vying for allegiance among its citizens. Will you bend your decisions to the survivalist nature of the Icebloods, advocates of adaptation over development? Or will you side with the methodical Technocrats, champions of technological progress? Perhaps, you might even side with one of the more radicalized groups you’ll meet in-game. It’s up to you - the City’s Steward.

Nope. Didn't consider it for a second. They were shipped off to school and care homes in all of my playthroughs. A society, even one struggling to survive in an apocalypse, that exploits its children and elderly does not deserve to exist in my world.

Hey, I'm an elderly cripple and I love being exploited. But only by groups of hot young women.

So twice as depressing as the first? I did like the option of putting the little brats to work. Nothing but beatings and gruel for those little monsters! "What!? You want more!?"

Why am I in no way surprised.

I loved the atmosphere of the first one but it was so damn hard. I never finished the campaign because I would inevitably end up in a death spiral.

One of my favorite gaming memories is playing Frostpunk while it's bitter cold and snowing outside. I won't mind if this is delayed since I won't be playing it until winter anyway.

Minor discontent due to the 4 month wait but hope is high.

This is my game. Nothing else comes close to the intensity required to make your city survive.

I’ve just finished all scenarios in survivor mode with all objectives completed and deathless.
I don’t ever do that shit in other games and usually just play “normal” mode but for this….its soo good

Also only game I’d ever do a deluxe pre-order.

It looks to be also coming out as a Day One release on Game Pass as well. That being said, I played the first game on Game Pass and I liked it so much that I eventually bought on Steam (during a good sale).
