64GB FTW!*
Definitely. And depending on the games you play, 64GB can also be necessary for a gaming rig, e.g. if you are into sims like DCS World. It's been a recommendation for many years to have 64GB RAM for DCS World.
I also upgraded from 32GB DDR5-6800 to 64GB DDR5-6600 not too long ago. It is actually a DDR5-6800 kit and the 32GB kit was actually a DDR5-7200 kit but either my mobo or my CPU/IMC can not handle the nominal speeds so I had to dial back the speed a bit for 100% stability. 64GB of DDR5-6600 at CL32 latency is still pretty nice so I'm not complaining.
If anyone is in the business for memory (RAM, SSD, anything) then I would recommend to hurry up. Prices have been on the rise for a couple of months now and are expected to keep on rising throughout the entire year of 2024. Upgrading is only going to get more expensive from here on out.
