Well, this probably explains the weird problems I was having with 7Zip outputting corrupted archives (and some unusual game crashes). Testing to see if the proposed fixes work...

Of course, Intel can point its fingers at the mobo manufacturerers for their BIOS settings.
Or the mobo manufactures can point right back if those settings were recommended by Intel.

It would be nice to know which one it is, but I suspect we won't get that info.

This is when you sell out of the box max overclocked CPUs. intel needs incredibly high wattage to make these stable resulting in overheating and other problems.

I have two Intel i9-13900KS systems that were having this same exact issue with a lot of applications and games crashing and regular BSODs. I had to declock the CPU's two 6 GHz performance cores down to 5.4 GHz in order for the systems to become stable. Both are the KS special edition CPUs that are supposed to have been binned to clock up to 6 GHz by default.

I'm not sure if the issue is the BIOS or the CPU or something related to Windows but both systems started to exhibit the same problem roughly at the same time.

I was there for that. Intel didn't "fix" a single processor sent in. It was cheaper just to send out a new cD0 (at least I think it was cD0, been a while) step CPU. In fact, that is how I got my hands on a pair of Gigamine Slot 1 CPUs to finish building a system around an OR840MB. Loaded with 2GB of ECC RDRAM all free of charge. It made for a wicked fast Slackware server.
