We had a fun outing last night with our friend and neighbor that was a bit
unusual. She is from Sri Lanka, and took us to a local Sri Lankan restaurant. We
were unfamiliar with the food, which is similar to southern Indian cuisine in
some ways and different in others. So it was a great treat to have a native to
help us understand and guide our selections. I had kottu roti, and it was
fantastic. All in all it very enjoyable, and it was funny to have a short drive
to a little roadside hole-in-the-wall seem like a vacation to an exotic locale.
