Blizzard Introduces New President

Blizzard announces February 5th is the first day for Johanna Faries as President of Blizzard Entertainment following the departure of Mike Ybarra along with hundreds of other former employees. Faries joined Activision as part of the Call of Duty team, most recently as General Manager of the franchise. The post gives us a look behind the curtain at her message to her colleagues, which touches on the individuality of Activision, Blizzard, and King, at least for now:
Activision, Blizzard, and King are decidedly different companies with distinct games, cultures, and communities. It is important to note that Call of Duty’s way of waking up in the morning to deliver for players can often differ from the stunning games in Blizzard’s realm: each with different gameplay experiences, communities that surround them, and requisite models of success. I’ve discussed this with the Blizzard leadership team and I’m walking into this role with sensitivity to those dynamics, and deep respect for Blizzard, as we begin to explore taking our universes to even higher heights.

I am committed to doing everything I can to help Blizzard thrive, with care and consideration for you and for our games, each unique and special in their own right. I’m optimistic about our ability to serve our current and future player communities, and to further amplify the shared passion for greatness, polish, and creative mastery that is a hallmark of Blizzard’s approach to game-making.

She will have to clean up Augeas' stable - no less.
How can small teams come up with games like currently e.g. Enshrouded or Palworld? How can they pull if off without the games looking like sh1t or being buggier than a kitchen in a Holiday Inn that has been closed for more than a decade? How can they woo gamers into constantly playing? Why are there more diverse and interesting game mechanics in indie games than in those of multi-billion companies? And - I know now many will hate me but I don't care - how can AI be used to make games cheaper and quicker in development without giving up on quality and diversity (RE: game mechanics etc.)? Because this IS the future of the entertainment industry, of administrations, and so on.

She has experience but she is taking over the care for a so to say badly aged T-Rex in a time where mammals are taking over the planet. I hope she can pull it off because despite the horrible Diablo 4 gaming experience, I still like Blizzard for the gaming fun they gave to the world in the past. And despite pretty much all those guys behind Diablo 1 and 2 or the Warcraft games having moved on, I would love to see Blizzard come back big time.
...we yet realize that America's leadership and prestige depend, not merely upon our unmatched material progress, riches and military strength, but on how we use our power in the interests of world peace and human betterment.
