With most if not all of BGS working on Starfield, every patch, every delay and every delayed patch delays TES6 development further. And they are still using this game engine for that game.

I bet it had backwards flying dragons too. Dammit.

Crimson Fleet’s “Eye of the Storm” mission

How does patching this story mission keep popping up in every set of patch notes? Is it that broken? They really should have contracted community patch people to fix this game ahead of time, as it seems outsiders are the only ones competent with the engine anymore.

Oh my god, no. Seriously they need to stop, it's killing their games at this point.

It was first announced approx. 2 1/2 years ago, though that was before Microsoft instituted control over BGS. Here are just a couple of articles that shared this information about the TES6 engine, both from Summer 2021:
The Elder Scrolls 6 is Using Same Engine as Starfield, Still in 'Design Phase'
Todd Howard explains how The Elder Scrolls 6 will build on Starfield's engine

While you may have meant this in jest it is actually true. Most if not all of the designers, leads, producers and directors that have been responsible for what has been good from Morrowind up until (and not including) Fallout 76 have left. Nesmith, Purkeypile, and others are gone. BGS now has 20 years of tools made for various versions of NetImmerse/Gamebryo/Creation and likely very few employees with experience using it.
