What's actually shocking to me is that prison architect wasn't made by the rimworld developer ludeon studios by tynan sylvester...
It has the exact same graphics! I never played or looked it up before!

Prison Architect came out about a year or so before RimWorld, and I think it's super obvious that RimWorld was heavily inspired by it in the graphics and audio departments.

I'd rather stick with Introversion for that sort of games than Double Eleven, even if they participated to a few good titles like RDR2. I pretty much stopped playing since DE took over.

Making a 2nd game with exactly the same theme isn't very original and doesn't inspire a lot of confidence. Not a fan of requiring a Paradox account either.

(For information, Paradox is only the publisher)

Agreed, they have made a complete mess out of the first one and it was one of my favorite games Glaring bugs due to unnecessary updates to sell DLC like the stupid zombie update, ugh. After the buyout they had a game in a pretty good state and it just needed some QOL updates but no, Paradox had to monetize it to death.

I have no faith that Paradox won't absolutely find some way to fuck this up plus milk it to death.
