Along with the
Prince of Persia The Lost Crown Early Access launch
mentioned above,
Ubisoft announces it is evolving its subscription program. This is dropping
the Ubisoft+ branding that probably earned a marketing intern a failing grade in
favor of Ubisoft+ Premium, which sounds a luxurious as "rich Corinthian
leather." There is also a new subscription tier called Ubisoft+ Classics on PC
hoping to find some coins in the couch of its back-catalogue. The price of a
Ubisoft+ Premium subscription remains USD$17.99/month, while Ubisoft+ Classics
will set subscribers back $7.99/month. The post includes an interview where
Philippe Tremblay explains the difference between the two plans:
Premium
means day one access to new releases and in some cases, like Prince of Persia:
The Lost Crown, early access to upcoming new releases. This is on top of our
extensive back catalog, where you'll have access to premium editions, DLC, and
monthly rewards. All of this is offered on Xbox, PC, and Amazon Luna, and you'll
only need to subscribe once to have access to these games across all these
platforms. Players can subscribe to Ubisoft+ Premium for a monthly fee of
$17.99.
Alternatively, players can subscribe to Ubisoft+ Classics, a curated selection
of our most popular back-catalog games, like Far Cry 6, Rainbow Six Siege, and
Watch Dogs: Legion. This catalog will grow with time, is included for
PlayStation+ Extra and PlayStation+ Premium Members, and is now available on PC
through the Ubisoft Store for $7.99 per month.
