To think I was deathly afraid we wouldn't get a battery article this week.
The only thing that could make it better is if AI was responsible for the breakthrough. Blank

but..

Microsoft itself is also quite aggressively researching new battery tech. Just this week, Microsoft published details of its own battery breakthroughs, showcasing how its artificial intelligence models discovered new methods for reducing the amount of lithium needed in today's batteries.

So many things broken through. Could teleportation and living on Jupiter be far behind?

This thread is everything I expected from the battery techs naysayers around here.

Still not realising that a lot of those breakthroughs do make it to market in lithium batteries.

A seven fold increase in efficiency ( and still going ) since the first commercial lithium battery in that historic Sony Camcorder is all the evidence you need that some of those older past breakthroughs you read sometimes years or decades ago did have a major impact on batteries throughout the last few decades until today and hence some of the current breakthroughs will have major impacts in turn down the road.

Sorry to yank y'alls heads out of your ostrich holes. But it was sorely overdue.

If a company can't keep selling us new batteries on a regular basis then this tech will never see the light of day, outside of some ridiculously expensive military application.

The bigger news is that there is no Musk news today, someone is slacking. I should've knocked on wood before I posted that though, now there's bound to be one in the nightlies Sweatdrop

Now you have to setup the altar, perform the rite of purification, and sacrifice two chickens and a goat to stave off the oncoming tsunami of Musk "news" for weird nerds and wannabe Libertarians to masturbate to.
